Beyond the Art Classroom: Collaborating with Classroom Teachers

This workshop will identify connections between students’ learning in the Gen ED classroom and the art classroom. How to approach classroom teachers and proposing ways to collaborate. It will also explore four successful projects that were executed in collaboration with elementary classroom teachers at my school; from science, social studies, math and ELA.

Art Educator, Fishweir Elementary

Originally from Montreal, Marie Escriba is a practicing artist and an art educator at Duval County Public Schools. She holds an MA in Art Education from the University of Florida and has over 20 years of experience teaching children, teens and adults in different settings: she has taught at museums, libraries, schools, private events, as well as training professionals on artmaking and art education. She believes everyone can find their creative expression through art with a little guidance.
