Collette Baum, Student, Trinity Preparatory School of Florida


PERFORMER BIO:

Collette Baum is a 14-year-old middle school student at Trinity Preparatory School of Florida. She started singing professionally at the age of 8 with Opera Orlando and has been a principal role in several of their productions including Lizbeth (as “Young Lizzie”) and The Magic Flute (as “The First Spirit”). At age 11, Collette was featured as a guest artist in Theatre UCF’sShrek-The Musical (as “Young Fiona”), which had a successful run enjoyed by over 10,000 people. She has performed in more than 20 musical theatre and opera productions, and her favorite roles include playing “Amelia Earhart” in Flying Lessons (Trinity Prep), “Ariel” in The Little Mermaid (Park Maitland School), “The Queen of the Night” in The Magic Flute (Opera Orlando Youth Company) and “Brigitta von Trapp” in The Sound of Music (with Central Florida Vocal Arts and also with Little Radical Theatrics). Collette has loved competing in the Junior Thespian Festival over the past three years where she has earned four “Best in Show” distinctions, a “Top Honor” award, and has had the huge honor of being voted District 2’s “Best in Show” representative for her musical solo now two years in a row. She is delighted and very grateful to be performing for the Florida Alliance for Arts Education Summit.
