PRESENTER BIO:

Jason Peoples, Executive Director, Jacksonville Arts and Music School (JAMS)

Jason Peoples is the Executive Director of the Jacksonville Arts & Music School (JAMS), a Creative Youth Development Program that empowers young people through arts education and social-emotional learning. With nearly two decades of experience in creative and leadership development, Jason brings a wealth of expertise to his role. 

Jason, a United States Army veteran who served during key campaigns, understands the importance of effective leadership in challenging environments. His artistic background in music, visual arts, and film, combined with his leadership experience, positions him as a modern-day renaissance man capable of leveraging the arts to nurture critical thinking and inspire future leaders.

Beyond his work at JAMS, Jason is deeply committed to leadership development in the nonprofit sector. He was honored in VOID Magazine's 35 Under 35 (2018) for his contributions and recently received the Helen Lane Founders Award from the Community Foundation of Greater Jacksonville for his impact on arts and culture. He has also inspired future leaders through platforms like the TedX "Kids at Play" forum, emphasizing creativity in youth development. Additionally, he has served on the Mayor of Jacksonville's Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Committee, contributing to initiatives for local growth in the creative economy, and chaired the city's inaugural individual arts grant program to support artists in Duval County. A proud alum of Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2023 and the Hightower Emerging Leaders Fellowship Class of 2020, Jason continues to advocate for transformative opportunities for youth.

His educational background includes studies in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix, Nonprofit Management and Executive Nonprofit Leadership at Duke University, and Psychology and the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking at the University of Georgia. Jason lives in Jacksonville with his wife, Tori, and their three daughters, Jayah, Lyric, and Trinity, and is dedicated to fostering destinations for youth transformation.
