Let Them Draw Anime* (You Probably Meant Manga)
led by: Anthony Aiuppy
Have you ever heard someone say, “We don’t draw anime” in art class? Do you have art students who seem to only want to draw characters with big eyes and tiny, pointed, noses? It’s okay. You are not alone. Students of all ages and backgrounds have been influenced by anime and manga for decades in the U.S. During our time, my goal is to provide 1) resources to help you understand the cultural impact of Japanese comics and animation and 2) strategies to get your students’ inspirations to work for them in the development of their personal artworks.
