Lunar New Year Music Lesson

led by: Jill Lee

Using Lunar New year as inspiration, students will create a Dragon Dance, learn a pentatonic melody to sing or play on barred percussion instruments, and use lunar animal signs to create drum patterns. This multicultural lesson incorporates traditions of Chinese New year and the lunar calendar to create a fun musical lesson that can be scaffolded for all levels.
